Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center (CHSC) is actively seeking community partners for Project ELLA (Early Language and Literacy for All) to help us reach all those who care for children birth to age 5.

Why partner with CHSC and Project ELLA?

Talking and listening skills are key to a child’s successful communication and literacy development. These skills are critical for a child’s readiness to start school. In fact, a child’s talking and listening skills in the first 5 years of life can predict how successful they will be into adulthood. By removing financial barriers to speech, language and learning for all children birth to age 5, Cleveland Hearing & Speech Center launched Project ELLA as a way to ensure each child in Cleveland has every advantage for a bright future.

Some Partnership Opportunities:

  • Invite ELLA to your daycare or preschool to perform speech and language screenings, and/or teacher and parent training in language building strategies
  • Invite ELLA to hold language and literacy activities for the children at your daycare of preschool
  • Invite ELLA to provide education about language building to staff that work with the community
  • Invite ELLA to give presentations to your community stakeholders
  • Donate space for ELLA to hold playgroups or parent education events
  • Serve as a connection to other community organizations that would benefit from Project ELLA services
